Mutual Aid to Montvale NJ

Monday, July 23, 2012

On Monday, July 23, 2012, at around noon, the Montvale Fire Department (NJ) had a house fire on Windsor Avenue just over the Pearl River border.  Pearl River Fire Department was first called to the scene as FAST but was quickly moved into Fire Attack.  As Montvale started to call for more resources from their neighbors the volunteers from Orangeburg were called to "Standby" at their quarters in the event they received other emergencies.

Within ten minutes of standing by in the Montvale Fire House we were relocated to the scene to act as FAST.  Once on the scene our volunteers constantly monitored the fire ground as it was becoming more dangerous.  The fire had gotten into the walls and the entire structure was charged with smoke and fire.  Thankfully no one got hurt or trapped.
