For over 100 years, the members of the Orangeburg Volunteer Fire Association have served and protected the community, under sometimes challenging circumstances. The firefighters who make up our team of 50 professionally trained volunteers are your family, friends, and neighbors, each of whom selflessly give of their own time, 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year, to keep our town, its residents, homes, and businesses as safe as possible. Embracing the words of Mahatma Gandhi, our members believe, “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.”

Each active member of our fire department has completed 130 hours of rigorous initial training, in addition to countless hours spent training as part of our weekly in-house training program. We undertake these endeavors to ensure that every time we respond to a call for help (297 times in 2016), you are provided with the best and sharpest skill sets available.

As you know, responding to emergencies is not the only thing that we do. We also take great pride in the events that involve you: our friends and neighbors. We were delighted to see so many familiar faces in 2016 during our annual carnival in June, our Halloween Parade in October, and our various fire prevention activities during the year, not to mention the brisk evening we spent together in December during our ever-growing Holiday Parade.

We hope that you enjoy attending these events as much as we enjoy hosting them, but like all things in life, they do come with a cost. It is with this in mind that we ask that you to consider making a tax-deductible donation to the Orangeburg Volunteer Fire Association to aid in the continuation of these community-minded events.

Donations can be made by check or Paypal. No contribution is too small.

Every interaction with our friends and neighbors carries with it a memorable experience, whether tangible or not, that we take with us every day. Our volunteers, both individually and as an organization, are grateful for all the support you have shown us in the past, and will continue to provide you with the dedication and exemplary service that you have come to expect.
