As we celebrate National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week we wish to recognize two of our own who work at 44-Control, Rockland County’s dispatch. Brendan Fridhandler and James Lenihan.
44-Control handles all cellular 911 calls in the county. If the call is a Police or Ambulance request they transfer the call to the appropriate agency. If a fire related call they dispatch the appropriate fire department. In addition to dispatching fire departments, Control also dispatches the State Police on the Palisades Interstate Parkway and the Haverstraw Ambulance Corp.
Control will work with these various agencies if additional resources are needed during an incident. During a recognition ceremony this week at 44-Control, Brendan was recognized for his handling of various interactions with the public and the emergency first responders.
The telecommunicators are rated throughout the year with their interactions with the public and the emergency first responders. Brendan finished fourth in this rating – a excellent achievement.
The Orangeburg Volunteer Fire Department wishes to thank all of the telecommunicators that we rely on so much and to congratulate Brendan Fridhandler for his achievement.
